Tamil ChartBusters is an independent weekly chart for Tamil music. It publishes a new Tamil Top 20 and Indie Top 10 every Monday, keeps every past week permanently online, and tracks what is new on streaming and who is playing live.

A song can take you back — to a month, a year, a particular bus ride. But playlists move on quietly. The song that was everywhere last March just slips away, and nothing is left to say it was ever there.

So we write it down. Every week, kept for good.

How the chart is compiled

Each week’s ranking is compiled by hand from a mix of signals:

• Streaming performance across the major platforms
• YouTube views and momentum over the chart week
• Radio and public play
• Social traction and how a song is actually being used

The chart week runs Monday to Sunday. The new chart publishes the following Monday.

Everything else on the page is calculated, not chosen. Last week’s position, the movement arrow, the peak position and the weeks-on-chart count are all derived automatically from the archive. That means the history cannot quietly drift to fit a narrative — the numbers are whatever the record says they are.

Points, and the monthly and yearly charts

Every chart position earns points. In a Top 20, number one earns 20 points and number twenty earns 1. Monthly and year-end charts are the sum of those points across the period. No separate voting, no second ranking process — the aggregates are a straight consequence of the weekly charts.

The Hitlists

The Tamil Hitlist and Indie Hitlist are not curated. Every song that enters a weekly chart joins its Hitlist permanently, ordered by the best position it ever reached and how long it lasted.

Moments

Alongside the charts we post congratulations, remembrances, global milestones and chart records.

We don’t report. We react — a day later, once it’s confirmed and the noise has passed. Being first is not the job. Being right, and meaning it, is.

What this site will not do

• No ads. Ever.
• No popups, no interstitials, no notification prompts
• No autoplay audio or video
• No tracking cookies — which is why you have never seen a cookie banner here
• No pay-for-placement. A position on this chart cannot be bought

Corrections

If something here is wrong — a wrong artist credit, a mis-spelled title, a missing composer — please say so and it will be fixed. Accuracy matters more than being first.

Artwork

Cover art and posters are used at small size for identification alongside editorial commentary, and remain the property of their respective rights holders. If you own artwork used here and would like it removed, get in touch and it will be taken down.
